How Do You Explain Color To Someone That Cannot See It?

I was thinking about what it would be like to not be able to see color. For someone like me, whom tends to think deeply and attaches emotions and experiences with colors as well as their appearance, I found it hard to wrap my mind around it.

So, I asked my mother, "How would you explain color to someone that was color blind?" She said she'd use the physical. I, on the other hand, would use the emotional as well as the physical. The conversation lulled as we drifted into thought.

Later on, when I got home, I couldn't stop thinking about it. So, I picked up a pen, some paper and my colored pencils and this is what I wrote:
